A new ecological system was invented for the aquarium which reflects the depths and the surrounding of the ocean and which will bring you to another world. The aquarium is home to a large number of species, including the Crown squirrelfish and the Batfish as well as clownfish, butterfly fish, lobsters and crabs...
Duration: One round takes about 1 to 1 ½ hours.
Opening hours: Monday -Sunday from 9:30 a.m. till 17:00 p.m.
Feeding time : Daily at 11 a.m.
The aquarium is situated in the small coast village of Pointe aux Piments in the north of Mauritius. It is about 20 minutes drive from Grand Baie. All in all you will find in the five buildings different tanks and pools, in which you can view 150 different types of water animals which habitat is on and around Mauritius.
The biggest tank has a length of 15 meters and contains a multiplicity of marine animals on which you can get an impressive view. For the small visitors you will get the so called “touch pool” in which you can interact with non dangerous marine animals.The feeding time for the fishes is daily at 11:00 am where you will have the opportunity to watch impressive animals like sharks, tortoises and morays getting feed at this time.
Guided tours are not available in the aquarium but if questions come up you can ask one of the six staff members. Further more you will find a small souvenir shop and a snack-bar with different lunch offers and drinks.
